What types of jobs are there that one can do from home?

I want to leave my present profession and retrain in something to do from home. I am considering doing a book-keeping course or a professional proof reading course. Is there a demand for these type of jobs to do from home? What other jobs are there for one to do from home or to be self-employed?

What types of jobs are there that one can do from home?
My daughter set up what became a very successful Pet Care Agency, which she did alongside a paid part-time job to start.

She began with Pet Care at Home where she took in small animals while owners were on holiday (caged birds, gerbils hamsters, bunnies, etc) and did dog-walking - collecting Fido from homes of disabled and elderly people and taking them out. Thus building references. She built up a clientele of regular clients who needed someone to feed cats and do litter trays, feed and water the budgie, etc. while they were away.

She took on other Pet Visitors who were self-employed (so they sorted their own tax and insurance) but she charged a Booking Fee so that eventually she mostly stayed at home and arranged for other people to do the out work. She looked after the advertising and had a web site. Among her staff she had a couple of Vet nurses who were able to give injections and other medications but not able to work full time due to family commitments. She sold her Agency for a 4-figure sum when she emigrated.

Reply:There are a ton of work from home opportunities out there. The key is to find the best. I would suggest you look in to one that gives you great training, is publically traded, has a good compensation plan, and has been in business for a while. These are all important factors that I considered before I made my decision. If you choose the best, your chances of success are much, much better.
