What type of jobs can you work on a per diem basis?

I'm curious to know what type of jobs/professions that you can work on a per diem/day to day basis. I'm thinking of working as a free agent rather than being "tied down" to one employer.

Virtually all kinds of jobs. But: no security, no benefits, no vacations. And no way to advance.
Reply:As a software consultant you can make about 100 bucks a hour. True that there is no benefits and security, but no corporate politics to deal with either.
Reply:Nurse and most other hospital positions. Radio station event staff. Liquour company event staff (paid to party at a bar and promote the company's drink). Temp security guard. Conventions. Food sampler in grocery stores. Mystery Shopper. Back up call center employee. Substitute teacher.
Reply:Nursing for one..work from a registry. Substitute teacher. Secretary, Consultant, but there are no benefits, health plan, paid vacation or sick leave, and no retirement..
