What is the best way to balance work & family if you work 2 jobs?

Since my husband has had heart surgery and still has problems, I am concerned that he may eventually have to quit work. Therefore I am considering getting a second job right now so we can get all of his medical bills paid and the mortgage paid off. Therefore all that would be left are the normal monthly utility bills - no credit cards. But I feel guilty because we have a 13 year old son and I want to spend more time with him since the next 5 years will fly past and he will be going off to college before we know it. Other than my normal 9-5 job, what type of job can I take that would give me the extra money to get things paid but still give me the free time to be with my son? One note - I spend 2 hours on the day driving to and from work. There are really no jobs around where I live. I just want to get these bills out of the way in case my husband does have to quit work due to his health so I won't have to worry as much about the roof over our head. How do I make time for it all?

Spending time with your son is very important, since it is in his teen years that you have to make sure he got a good friends, grades and positive attitude. And I think you should explain the situation to him and work out a scheudle, And looking for something you can do from home, like sale on eBay.


If you treat him as an adult, then I think he will understand it. And it will be easier for you. As for job, you can find something on weekend at local retail store? Since they always need extra help on weekends. And stores closed at 6:00pm on Sunday, and you can spend time with the family.
Reply:There are plenty of things you can do from your home. I know a few different websites for home based business's that you can work around your schedule. 2 hour driving time? Wow! I know how that was. I used to have to do that myself. It gets tiring at times. Unless you have a beautiful drive. Reply:It's funny I found your question. I quit my job a few months ago in order to pursue my own internet marketing business. I've been listening to the Internet Business Mastery podcast. Which is great podcast about starting your own online business selling information.





The last episode I listened to was about this book called "4-Hour Work Week" by Timothy Ferriss. It's all about building a business where you can eventually outsource most of the tasks in order to spend more time enjoying life, your family, etc.





I also heard them say he talks to employees as well, about how to free up their time and start side businesses.





I am just about to order the audio version to listen to on my Ipod. I thought it may help you too.
