Are those are the jobs that are taken by illegal immigrants or they are more specialized jobs?
What are the type of jobs that people who want to migrate legally are planning to do?
The good jobs that will really hurt Americans. Large companies have the money to get the workers here legally and it benefits them even with that expense. Large construction and large factories. Besides the white collar jobs. Maybe we should ALL protest the illegals and let the legal immigrants take over all the good jobs then Americans can finally do that field work they been whining about. Should we do that starting today? Deport deport and deport some more. Let Americans have the garbage jobs!
Reply:Farming jobs
Reply:Hopefully the ones wanting to come here legally, have something to offer, as did the immigrants in the previous centuries did.
One of my Great great grandfathers came from Germany in the 1800's, he was a shoemaker! He had something to offer society, and he learned to speak the language before he arrived, so he could communicate. Further more he did not look for any hand outs when he came here!
Reply:Whatever they can get that helps them get sponsored and get here legally. Morally. Ethically. Appropriately.
Reply:50% of illegal immigrants are from Mexico. Mexico makes an average salary for the world. That means that there are a lot of countries who make less. They would be happy to take the same manual labor that illegal immigrants get. For instance, a California company is using a large number of Thai legal immigrants to pick fruits in Washington. I know this because a news article came out that the state of washington is fining this company for various labor infraction. Remember some countries minimum wage is a $1 a day, like El Slavador and Philipines. In Ireland, there immigration policy is to have a balance of immigrants. That means they take in some professional immigrants(Mostly Chinese, and some immigrants to do the manual labot (Mostly Nigerians) and have been very successful. I do question how our country handle immigration in the low end, since it typically limits there stay and avoid giving permanance to these immigrants, but I also see the advantage. SInce the pay disparaty is so high, having a large rotation of immigrants would improve the wealth of the third world. Instead of a handful of people being able to profit from our immigration, a larger group would be able to do so. The money they bring back has a multiplier affect. Also bringing in immigrants from the lowest paying nation would have a greater influence in reducing proverty. Since Mexico which make up the bulk makes an average salary relative to the world, and some countries make a dollar a day, a couple of thousands of dollars would go further in the poorest country compared to Mexico. If you want to undestand more on how a thousand dollar work more in one country than another, I suggest you read up on the McDonald Index.
Reply:No, most people who come here LEGALLY get into professional jobs. i.e. Doctor, nurse, teacher, scientist, Pediatrician
Illegal immigrants DO NOT take away the jobs LEGAL immigrants come here for.
they do take away jobs that lazy americans wont do.
Reply:I wonder if anyone has ever thought to bring up the point that legal immigrants most often open up their own businesses.
