I want to do ultrasound when I get out of school next year. What jobs will help prepare me for a job like that? What skills and/or techniques should I work on in order to excel in this career? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank You.
What are some good jobs to have if you want to be an ultrasound technician?
first..aww, juno, did you see that movie where they yell at the ultrasound tech?
anyways, thats just what your question reminded me of.
soooo to answer your question.
I'm assuming that you're going to school for it right now?
I would think that any other skills that you would want to acquire or practice would just be good people skills. or learning to deal with a variety of people. because i'm sure that its not always glamorous. obviously, sometimes you would be the first to confirm that someone is indeed pregnant, and there could be situations where its sad news or something, and you'll have to witness all the emotions.
you'll be working under or for other doctors, so i think the best way to excell in a career is just to be liked. If you can survive in a practice and get along well with co workers, and patients then you'll do great.
and as far as technical skills, I'm sure you've already gained those, and the best thing to do would just to be calm and give your patients a good experience. you'll make a good name for yourself that way, and it'll open up other opportunities
goodluck!
